Stage 2: Galaha to Loolkandura – Exploring the Birthplace of Ceylon Tea

Prepare for a moderately challenging yet rewarding hike on Stage 2 of the Pekoe Trail, traversing from Galaha to Loolkandura. This 14.7km trek, divided into two sections (Galaha to Deltota, and Deltota to Loolkandura), will take you through stunning landscapes and historical landmarks.

Your journey begins in Galaha, a picturesque town nestled amidst the central highlands. The initial section leads you through the beautiful Deltota Estate, following estate roads that wind past an old kovil and over rolling hills. Be prepared for a series of twists and turns as you approach Deltota, a vibrant hill country town with a bustling market – the perfect place to refuel with local fruits and snacks.
