The trail leads you through a cool and humid forest reserve, ascending towards a mountain that overlooks the Thotalagala-Dambatenne Valley. You’ll climb along beautiful tea trails, passing by an organic bio-tea estate. The path then opens up to reveal stunning views across the valley towards Lipton’s Seat. Continuing with steep climbs to the mountain peak, which is a plateau with extensive green tea fields and several small villages, the stage ends at St. Catherine. St. Catherine is a picturesque tea plantation worker’s village on the upper divisions of the Nayabedda Tea Estate, situated at an altitude of 1,875 meters, where Sir Thomas Lipton himself would often come to admire his sprawling tea empire.
